Court Boice
Family man | Business man | River Outfitter
Common Sense | Practical Solid Old-Fashioned Values
A Servant with Non-Compromising Honesty & Loyalty

Court enjoys encouraging and mentoring family men of all ages. In spending much of his adult life living in the beautiful Rogue River Wilderness (including raising his family between there and on the ‘coast’ at Gold Beach) he practiced - sound but ‘common sense’ environmental procedures, good health, the efficient use of all resources, and faced the daily challenges of being very geographically isolated. All required daily improvisation. Court understands the 'service industry' because he lived it. He has a broad background in working with various regulatory agencies, at all governmental levels....

Court was born in Gold Beach and has been a Southern Oregon resident since 2005. He has Northwest roots going back to the 1800's. His Grandfather Allen Boice, Sr. was a County Commissioner for one term and was then elected and served as Curry County Judge for 12 years - serving throughout the 30's and 40's. Court's father, Allen Boice Jr. was a Marine and later became a famous Oregon Lawman who served as a three-term Curry County Sheriff in the 60's and 70's. Court's mother Meryl is still a practicing Registered Nurse of 61 years. He is close to his two younger sisters, Julie Marstall and Peggie Botielho....

Court is very proud of his three sons; two born in Gold Beach and one in Medford … Justin 41) Family man, Business man, Football Coach, former River Racer throughout the (90's) -- Brandon (38) Family man, Oregon State Police Detective, Football Coach, former O.S.U. Court is very thankful for his Grandchildren; grandson 'Court', (19) and five special younger granddaughters; Karter, Brook, Peyton, Jordan and Reagan. Two other grandsons, Landon and Keaton. He is fortunate to be physically fit and in excellent health....

A ‘Type A’ person with boundless energy and many reasonable and common sense ideas, Court would say “that he is a servant and a leader… with non-compromising honesty and loyalty”. A business owner and operator since 1973 Court possesses natural leadership abilities that allow him to accomplish much through other people. Court has owned, co-owned, or operated:

  • Court’s White Water Trips / Rogue River Commercial Jet Boat Operator, River Guide and Outfitter
  • Paradise Lodge, 1973-2005.

Court is an outstanding River Outfitter and Host. Always sensitive to the needs of his customers, Court delivers over the long haul (and in sometimes very adverse conditions) in a manner that causes his clients, his staff, and the Rogue River community to love and respect him. In all cases Court manages the lodge that he owns or is associated with to continually improve in terms of quality and service. His eye is always on both customer satisfaction and profitability.

Court Boice is very well known on the Rogue River and in the jet-boat industry. In the past 33 years Court has transported almost 200,000 guests by Jet-Boat. An innovator, Court and associates developed the first three engine white water passenger jet-boat ever used anywhere. Court has more “seat time” under more varying conditions in river-jets than anyone else in the world. A dare-devil, Court has river raced countless times and is the first person to have piloted an inboard jet boat from Gold Beach to Grant’s Pass (120 miles). Court has rescued many from the Rogue River at times at the risk of his own life. Court is a past member and chairman of the Oregon State Marine Board.
